Hog Wash or the Real Deal? These days it seems everyone is going "green." I'm not really sure what that even means. Does it mean a person or corporate citizen really cares about the environment, or some genius in marketing decided it was time to launch a marketing campaign to that effect? As consumers we never really know, and I for one have grown skeptical. PSC Landscaping has been environmentally conscious since before it was fashionable. We are a team made up of husbands and fathers who want to leave the world a better place to our children. We focus on things that make a difference as opposed to trends come and go, and do nothing more than make one feel good. Reducing Waste, Sometimes it's Just that Simple. We have always done our best to reduce waste. This non-headline-grabbing practice of re-using, re-purposing unwanted items (including plant material), even if it takes us some time, actually makes a difference over time. Planning Ahead: The Advantages of Using Low Maintenance Species We believe that as good stewards we're obligated to offer our clients environmentally sustainable solutions for all your landscape needs. Through our rendering of low maintenance landscape designs, we can ensure that the plants that are installed are the very best suited for our climate, and unlikely to develop serious insect or disease problems over their lifetime. Whenever possible we incorporate native species in our designs that offer great aesthetic value while encouraging beneficial insect and pollinator habitat. Responsible Application of Chemicals Only when Absolutely Necessary We take the use of chemicals on your property very seriously and recommend them only when a true need exists. Some competitors see chemical applications as a way to increase revenue and sell you as much as they can even if the need is…questionable. Whether or not they are licensed to do so, unnecessary applications where your children and pets play are not O.K. We have obtained (and must maintain) our Supervisory Applicator License from the State of Connecticut. We continuously educate ourselves and monitor the latest information to make sound recommendations that will benefit you and minimize the impact on the environment. It takes a lot more know-how, experience, and care to make a property look great without excessive chemicals. That is what we do. …Can the large well-known franchise that takes care of your neighbor's lawn say the same? |
